Miska Knapek

Miska / Michael Knapek was born in Bremen. He began as a graphic designer at the age of fourteen, completed a BA in Graphic Information Design at the University of Westminster (London) and pursued graduate studies in Interaction Design at Malmoe University, Art & Technology (IT-University of Gothenburg), and is currently studying New Media at Helsinki University of Art & Design's Media Lab.

Michael / Miska life is a story of a graphic and new media designer who 'found himself', when he realized his off-hours experiments were - the ultimate justification - art. Though finding graphic design pleasurable, he burns for information visualization, ambient media, and, exploring interactive media's Situationist facets. His artwork includes installations and prints reconfiguring and challenging people's sense of place, time, optics and information. He's been exhibited in new media exhibitions in Germany, Denmark, France and Sweden. He participated in the NorthEastWest exhibition at galerie Lavignes Bastille in Paris.
